This year, I’m proud to be part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, a seven-week competition where students try to raise as much money as possible to support the fight against Leukemia, Lymphoma, and other blood cancers. I am driven to work hard during this campaign in honor of my grandfather, Ray Cooper (Doc), who passed away in 2012, when I was five years old, from complications involving Leukemia. I hope that I can do my part to raise as much as possible with every dollar being a mark on Doc's legacy. This year I hope to make a real contribution to the fight with a goal of raising $20,000.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
